musique : L’Oreille musicale: Rock in France – the 60s

07/03/2013

| free

From the first records in 1956 by Henri Salvador and Boris Vian, we will explore the beginning of Rock in France. Highly influenced by this new music from USA and UK, the French artists copied music and translated lyrics during the ’Yéyé’, a movement that was born and got very popular with the radio programme Salut les copains. Afterwards, musicians found a typically French direction between poetry and rock.

Don’t miss this Oreille musicale featuring all the yéyé girls and boys – Françoise Hardy, Johnny Hallyday, Sheila, Sylvie Vartan… – who brought Rock to France !
